El Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga presenta Método del discurso, exposición de Fernando Sánchez Castillo compuesta por pinturas y esculturas constructivistas desarrolladas con la ayuda de robots desactivadores de explosivos y que han sido diseñadas específicamente para el Espacio 2. El artista reflexiona sobre cómo se puede transformar el estatus del poder en el arte, con la intención de modificar los usos sociales y políticos previamente consensuados, dotando a este proceso de una mirada más comprometida sobre acontecimientos históricos y gubernamentales. La reflexión sobre la memoria histórica que siempre subyace en el trabajo de Sánchez Castillo, evoluciona en sus creaciones actuales hacia un ingenio irónico y humor ácido. Es la primera vez que los dispositivos de la Guardia Civil se ponen al servicio de la creación artística, con la mediación del equipo y el comisariado del CAC Málaga que han coordinado la producción de la exposición.

The Contemporary Art Center of Málaga is presenting Method of Discourse, an exhibition by Fernando Sánchez Castillo comprising constructivist paintings and sculptures specially created for the Centre’s Space 2 and made with the help of robots normally used to deactivate explosives. The artist offers a reflection on how power can be transformed by art with the aim of modifying its pre-established social and political and using a socially committed viewpoint that focuses on historical and political events. The reflection on historical memory that always underlies Sánchez Castillo’s work has evolved in his most recent creations towards an ironic wit and acerbic sense of humour. This is the first time that robots belonging to the Spanish Guardia Civil have been used for the purposes of artistic creation, with the collaboration of the Bomb Disposal Squad and the curatorial direction of the CAC Málaga, which have worked together on the production of the exhibition.
